This article is about a discussion of the activity of the designer in the construction of learning objects for the distance education system. Based on the design ontological diagram of Gui Bonsiepe (1997) and the Theory of the mediation of Vygotsky (1998), it proposes an argument about the role of the designer in the process of teaching and learning.
