Neoschumpeterian Economics and the crisis: perspectives from 2018.

Rosa, Elton Rodrigo ;

Artigo completo:

The aim of this work is to try to debate some Neoschumpeterian perspectives on the 2008 crisis. Less prominently, we also tried to assess its potential to explain the present crisis. In order to do so, we’ve tried to characterize, firstly, the connections between technological innovation, paradigm formation and crises within the Neoschumpeterian perspective. Then, we’ve tried to highlight three different elaborations, within this tradition, that assess the relation between the technological innovations and the particular crisis of 2008. In this crisis finance played a crucial role. Thus, the role of finance also had to be emphasized. Finally, we tried to assess critically the selected contributions, stressing their merits and pointing out some suggestions for future research. In particular, among its merits, we’ve tried to highlight the role of the analysis of the paradigms as a potential key to discuss the present crisis.
