Aprender en el laboratorio de Diseño: una práctica alternativa en tiempos de crisis para estudios de pregrado

Learning at the Design Lab: a model for Design Schools undergraduate programs

El término "laboratorio" ya no se limita al ámbito científico, sino que se ha extendido a espacios de interacción inter y transdisciplinaria con el objetivo de abordar situaciones complejas y desarrollar soluciones prácticas a través de formatos de investigación participativos. Esta tendencia se ha popularizado en instituciones académicas, especialmente en escuelas de Diseño. La diversidad de temas de investigación ha llevado a las universidades a adoptar perspectivas diversas en lugar de enfoques específicos y disciplinarios, lo cual es relevante en la enseñanza del Diseño, especialmente en escuelas con inclinaciones hacia la investigación y con programas de posgrado que fomentan colaboraciones inter y transdisciplinarias con una visión sistémica. El artículo aborda los desafíos de implementar el modelo de Laboratorios de Diseño en los programas de licenciatura de las Escuelas de Diseño y presenta la propuesta de los Laboratorios de Diseño en los programas de la IberoCdMx.

The term "laboratory" has expanded beyond scientific contexts to encompass spaces of transdisciplinary interaction aimed at understanding complex situations and developing practical solutions through participatory research. This trend is increasingly prevalent in academic institutions, including Design schools. However, implementing this approach in undergraduate programs has faced challenges due to the traditional disciplinary structure of Design schools, which need to embrace transdisciplinary collaborations and a systemic vision. The article addresses the challenges of implementing Design Laboratories or Labs in undergraduate Design programs and proposes Design Labs for the new IberoCdMx programs.
