This paper discusses Augmented Reality (AR) as means to interact withinformation regarding infrastructure projects before, under and afterconstruction. For that purpose, two different prototypes were developed usingApples ARKit and Unity's game design platform and tested on two use cases.However, the main focus of this paper is interacting with infrastructureinformation through AR rather than researching core AR technology. We learnedthat using AR under the constructing phase with subsurface utilities is still facingseveral difficulties. Especially when it comes to accessing and interacting withinformation in a changing construction environment. These difficulties will bediscussed and also the challenges regarding information flow between civilengineering and AR software.
