"Although many agricultural practices rely heavily on machinery to aid in the cultivation of their crops, the oil palm industry does the contrary, it persists in the use of manual labour for its arduous and difficult tasks. Due to its importance, an analysis of the current challenges present in palm oil plantations was conducted, mapping out the difficulties that impede the advance of mechanisation. With the assistance of the Scopus database, a compilation of scientific papers was used to build a foundation and extract present and past information, detailing the operation of the fields.
