The Energy Cost Compensation is an analysis that seeks to understand and control the energy costs of an organization. Its main objective is to reduce energy consumption, increase energy efficiency, and promote sustainable practices in terms of pollutant emissions. To achieve this, all expenses related to processes within the production chain are considered. Although the Brazilian electric grid is mostly composed of renewable sources, such as hydroelectric power, these sources, despite being considered \"clean,\"" also emit pollutants. It is possible to correlate the CO2 emission factor for a specific energy generated and, thus, calculate the amount of pollutants released to produce each component in terms of energy consumed. In this article, we present how manufacturing processes and product design characteristics can influence energy costs and sustainability. The analysis of energy consumption in the production process allows quantifying the expenditure related to the production of fuel galleries and their subcomponents, as demonstrated in a case study. This way, it is possible to evaluate the environmental impact during product development, particularly regarding the manufacturing process."
