This paper presents part of a wider research on interfaces and processes in the production of spatialities in architecture, which focuses on the diagrams as ways of knowledge spatialization. The article is structured in two parts. The first systematizes theoretical aspects and proposes the concept of diagram as topological machine, from which are identified different modes of operation. The second part presents a case study about the diagrams produced by the Danish office BIG (Bjark Ingels Group) to mark one of the inflections of the diagrams in contemporary architecture, directed at communicative pragmatism.
