Digital Creativity: Pedagogical Strategies for Design Teaching
Saraiva Junior, Sergio de Lima ; Carvalho, Diogo Ribeiro ;
Full Article:
This paper presents a discussion about design pedagogy strategies focused on students’ processes rather than on their architectural objects. The hypothesis here is that critical and creative autonomy of students can be developed by the teaching of design thinking simultaneously with operative digital tools within design disciplines. An experiment was made in an introductory design discipline in a private Brazilian Architecture School and results show how students’ skills and knowledge about design grow faster when a digital creative culture is fostered within the design studio.
