The digital transformation in the Brazilian public sector has intensified in recent decades, driven by the pursuit of greater efficiency, transparency, and citizen participation. This study analyzes the transition process from e-government to digital government and its relationship with digital transformation and platformization. Based on a literature review, a conceptual model for existing digital platforms in public administration is proposed. Despite growing criticisms surrounding the aforementioned processes, digital transformation adds value to public administration, resulting in greater efficiency and transparency, and impacting the implementation of public policies. Digital government, anchored in digital platforms, can promote justice and social equity, innovation, development, and infrastructure, contributing to healthier and more sustainable environments and a better world.
