Exploring the interaction of the artifact tactical vest and its effects on society A case study in Rocam

This article outlines a case study which purpose is to know the interactive quality between the Policemen of Rocam-RN with their tactical vests (in a broader sense), as well to understand their relationship with the devices and artifacts affixed on their tactical vests (considering the specific use of some apparatus). The aim of this study is both to evaluate the tactical vest weight along with its layout efficiency, and to evaluate the user’s satisfaction in the use of their tactical vests. For such, it was made interviews, questionnaires and direct observations of the policeman activities. The start point of this case study was the following hypothesis: once the policemen prepare their own tactical vests with layouts created by them. So, if someone observes these layouts, s/he will have an understanding of the quality of use of those devices and artifacts. This hypothesis was confirmed, considering that it was possible to understand the quality of use of the tactic vests by means of the Policemen’s opinion on issues recognized by themselves. It was also possible to understand that users perform interventions, based on their own inventive or learned from the experience of other policemen.
