Information system for public transport users: design of graphic components for bus stops and bus interior

This paper presents a design of visual information system to the users of public transport, being bound in stops and inside the bus. The proposal was designed for the public transport system in Curitiba (Brazil) but can be appropriately adapted to other contexts. The design process developed can be divided into two main phases: analysis of current user information system and graphic design. The design project developed an information system that includes specific visual graphic components: information panel to be deployed in bus stops and route map and diagram to be displayed inside the bus. The graphical components created for this information system have a consistent visual identity and are flexible, allowing its replication in others components.
