Research and projects development in pandemic times. FUSION – Creative Europe, realizing a research project online

Neste artigo pretendemos refletir sobre a realização de projetos e investigação aplicada em tempos de pandemia. Fazendo o balanço de um projeto em curso que havia sido proposto para ser executado integralmente de forma presencial. Apresentaremos a metodologia de trabalho adotada pelos diferentes parceiros com enfoque na equipa portuguesa. O Projeto FUSION – Fashion Up-Skilling Innovation Open Network (https://cefusion.com), no âmbito do programa Creative Europe, da Escola Superior e Design do IPCA conjuntamente com a Limerick School of Art & Design (que lidera), UK Crafts Council e a Fondazione Santagata, está, no presente, em pleno desenvolvimento no online. Foi um dos projetos Europa Criativa financiados em 2019 para ser realizado num período de cerca de dois anos com mobilidade dentro dos países parceiros e a realização de um conjunto de atividades de investigação e formação na Europa. O confinamento obrigatório nos diferentes países da Europa por força da pandemia Covid 19 implicou a passagem do projeto para o online e respetiva adaptação e adequação das atividades do mesmo. O FUSION reúne um conjunto de 8 artistas e designers selecionados para participação nas ações do projeto (em curso), estes artistas concretizarão um trabalho/obra individual a expor no final do projeto em 2022.

In this paper, we aim to reflect on the realization of projects and applied research in pandemic times. Reviewing an ongoing project that had been proposed to be fully realized in person. We will present the adopted methodology by the different partners with a focus on the Portuguese team. The FUSION Project – Fashion Up-Skilling Innovation Open Network (https://cefusion.com), within the scope of the Creative Europe program, has as partners the School of Superior and Design of the IPCA, the Limerick School of Art & Design (that leads), the UK Crafts Council and the Fondazione Santagata, is currently in full development online. It was one of the Creative Europe projects funded in 2019 to be carried out over a period of about two years with mobility within the partner countries and carrying out a set of research and training activities in Europe. The mandatory confinement in different European countries as a result of the covid 19 pandemic implied the transition of the project to online and the respective adaptation of its activities. FUSION brings together a group of 8 artists and designers selected to participate in the project's actions (in progress), these artists will materialize an individual work/work to be exhibited at the end of the project in 2022.
