Este artigo propõe uma análise gráfico visual do livro Chapeuzinho Amarelo. Publicado em 1997, com texto de Chico Buarque e ilustrações de Ziraldo, trata-se de uma adaptação brasileira e contemporânea do clássico europeu medieval Chapeuzinho Vermelho. A análise se baseia primeiramente numa revisão de autores e contexto histórico das versões originais e nesta adaptação para posteriormente investiga-la através da abordagem dos conceitos de sintaxe, semântica e pragmática propostos por Morris, em 1976, e nas variáveis para o estudo da imagem pictórica propostas por Michael Twyman, em 1985. Sob a ótica do design de informação, busca-se observar a articulação da linguagem visual operada em complexas relações entre texto e imagem, estilo e recursos gráficos que caracterizam o livro infantil ilustrado na contemporaneidade. A análise verifica ainda como o livro Chapeuzinho Amarelo pode ser considerado um documento histórico, social e cultural de determinado momento da identidade nacional, no cruzamento de talentos de dois expoentes da cultura popular brasileira através de uma linguagem lúdica e indireta para militar de forma discreta, mas pragmática em favor de um empoderamento libertário, posicionando-se politicamente contra a censura e opressão.

This article proposes a visual graphic analysis of the book Little Yellow Riding Hood. Published in 1997, with text by Chico Buarque and illustrations by Ziraldo, it is a contemporary Brazilian adaptation of the medieval European classic Little Red Riding Hood. The analysis is based primarily on a review of authors and the historical context of the original versions and on this adaptation to later investigate it through the approach of the concepts of syntax, semantics and pragmatics proposed by Morris, in 1976, and on the variables for the study of the pictorial image proposed by Michael Twyman, in 1985. From the perspective of information design, we seek to observe the articulation of visual language operated in complex relationships between text and image, style and graphic resources that characterize the illustrated children's book in contemporary times. The analysis also verifies how the book Chapeuzinho Amarelo can be considered a historical, social and cultural document of a certain moment of national identity, at the intersection of talents of two exponents of Brazilian popular culture through a playful and indirect language to military in a discreet way, but pragmatic in favor of libertarian empowerment, taking a political stand against censorship and oppression.
