MODELLING GEOTECHNICAL PARAMETERS IN BIM

"Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a structured and multidisciplinary data organization methodology focused on interoperability and error reduction. In Brazil, this methodology is most used in the building construction sector, however, in the field of Geotechnical Engineering the level of robustness is still low. This work aims to create a methodology for organizing and representing geotechnical data, which could help the AECO sector (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operation) to manage industrial and infrastructure projects. Based on the analysis of published works on the topic, a study area was chosen in which several geotechnical tests were carried out. With the availability of the results of these tests, the data was organized and using Autodesk Civil 3D® software, parametric modelling was carried out in different layers of the subsoil of the case study. The study carried out demonstrates that it is possible to model geotechnical parameters with BIM and that it is a field that can be explored with application potential."
