Trabalho completo:

Trabalho completo:

In consideration of current legislations, it is necessary for the calibration of vehicles to create and examine a realistically aged exhaust system for the gasoline sector according to the requirements. Aging is seen as the deactivation of a three-way catalyst as well as the deterioration of the particulate filter behavior. FEV has developed a patented burner test bench that provides a method for synthetic aging. Compared to conventional engine aging procedures, both costs and CO2 emissions are reduced. Due to the same dynamic conditions and the use of identical fuels, equivalent aging results are achieved on the burner test bench compared to the engine test bench or the vehicle endurance run. In addition, borderline catalysts for OBD, are tailored on the test bench and validate by vehicle emission tests, considering the OBD limits. Furthermore, a laboratory gas test bench is used to investigate how aged catalysts react to European and Brazilian fuels. With the introduction of gasoline particulate filters in the exhaust system, it is also necessary to consider loadings with realistic generated ash for endurance runs that lead to changes in filtration efficiency and backpressure behavior.
