Psoriatic arthritis (PsA) is a heterogeneous, inflammatory and multifaceted disease that can affect other areas besides articular, as skin, nails, eyes, intestine, as others musculoskeletal characteristics such as enthesitis, spondylitis and dactylitis
Materials and methods
We used data collected in medical records of outpatients of Clinical Hospital of Federal University of Pernambuco. Were analyzed 124 who met the criteria of CASPAR and aged ≥18 years to evaluate clinical and epidemiologically
Results
The mean age was 54.77 years (SD ± 10.71) with average interval between visits of 109.4 days (SD ± 45.2). The epidemiological clinical characteristics of the study population are described in Table 1. The data of drugs used in this population is described in table 2. Of all patients under immunobiological therapy, 46 patients were taking concomitant methotrexate at an average of 17.9mg/sem, and 4 of them are on concomitant use of prednisone (mean of 5mg/d). Another 4 patients on therapy with immunobiological were also on concomitant use of prednisone at an average of 8.5mg per day, with no conventional disease modified associated drug
Conclusion
This analyzes is important to understand the characteristics of PsA patients in our service, in order to analyze the best support strategy for them, since the disease is multifaceted.
