Recent Advances in 3D Printing of Polymers: A Review Study

Souza, Beatriz Almeida Castro de ; Sales, Leandro Freitas ; Maia, Joyce Mara Brandão ; Coelho, Rodrigo Santiago ;

Completo:

"3D printing of polymers has evolved from prototyping to the production of scalable and customized final products. This study reviews recent advancements, highlighting technological innovations and improvements in polymer materials applied in 3D printing. The methodology was based on a review of recent literature (last 5 years), focusing on emerging techniques and applications. The results indicate that technologies such as FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling), SLA (Stereolithography), and SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) are promote 3D printing in sectors such as healthcare and aerospace. It is concluded that it is necessary to overcome technical challenges such as anisotropy of mechanical properties and to explore new opportunities to expand the industrial applications of 3D printing."
