The research has as its central theme the plastic objects related to childhood that arrive on the beach in the city of Santos, SP, from the 19 slums on stilts in the region of Lagamar around the Island of São Vicente. The research addresses these objects by carrying out a photographic inventory of a personal and symbolic nature in which the objects are collected and later photographed in the context of a studio. The concept of inventory is present throughout the work, in which one seeks not the individual image, but always a set of multiple images that express themselves beyond the unit (ECO, 2010). It goes back to the origin of these objects – the favelas – contextualizing the social issue present there. It crosses the concepts of idealized landscape or the untouched beach, obstructed landscape or with the presence of garbage, garbage itself, and the proposed cut of objects linked to childhood, giving new meaning to them (CARDOSO, 2016). The research took advantage of the present period of the covid19 pandemic when for two periods of two months, the city's beaches remained closed to public use. During these periods it was possible to prove the external origin of these objects that continued to arrive there. From March 2020 to June 2021, more than 3,000 objects were collected and photographed individually. There were also five visits to the region's favelas for photographic and contextualization research, producing more than 500 images of the beach isolated from any type of interference, 500 images of it with interference or obstructions and also of garbage in loco. At the moment, the work is in the phase of analyzing this material and preparing the memorial for qualification. In the end, it intends to propose an action that involves the design using the images made and that this action can revert to those involved in the origin of the problem.
