Trabalho completo:

Trabalho completo:

The subjective satisfaction of a given target public must be considered to design vehicular mechanical/electronic systems. Analyzing human behaviors to understand conflict points of drivers as users of such systems to improve safety and quality perception. The driver-based design must consider 4 steps: identify requirements, understand the needs and points of conflict through field research, observations and data collection, using available system already in the market. The chosen one was the gearshift system of manual transmissions, once the more demanding market requirements and inherent direct connection to the user make this action extremely important in terms of comfort perception in motor vehicles. This research presents an in-vehicle test protocol which applies surface electromyography (sEMG) to correlate sEMG-based-linear models against subjective ratings given by non-trained drivers. Deep statistical studies led to three linear proposals, but only the model considering the arithmetic average of all sEMG signals had statistical relevance. The proposed protocol showed potential to be applied in several user experience studies for vehicle systems, like clutch and accelerator pedals, infotainment usage, comfort zone analysis, air conditioning controls and furthermore.
