"The synergistic operation of different energy sources has been increasingly studied. Studies indicate that this mode of operation offers a greater economic return for the enterprise. This article analyzes the complementarity of wind and solar resources in a region of Brazil, as well as the association between a wind and solar plant, aiming to optimize resource utilization and share common costs. Through energy simulations and evaluation of different power scenarios, it was possible to size an associated solar plant, resulting in a lower energy cost compared to the exclusive operation of the wind plant. Additional studies can be conducted to design an energy storage system that operates in conjunction with the wind and solar plants"
