"The exploration of oil and natural gas in Brazil, with an average production of 3.021 million barrels per day, has benefited from innovative geochemical prospecting methods that complement traditional techniques. This article maps these innovations based on a detailed search in the INPI, ESPACENET, USPTO, SCIELO, CAPES Journal Portal, WIPO, Google Patents, and Derwent Innovation databases, using specific keywords related to geochemical methods and hydrocarbon exploration. The results were filtered to include only those applicable to the hydrocarbon industry. Key innovations highlighted include the gas probe with pre-purge, the adaptable device for use under concrete slabs, the contamination-free extraction technique, and the detection of leaks at different depths. These technologies enhance the accuracy and efficiency in the collection and analysis of soil gases, significantly contributing to the evolution of hydrocarbon prospecting techniques, reducing risks, and improving the identification of underground deposits."
