THE APPLICATION OF TITANIUM DIOXIDE IN ECO-FRIENDLY CONCRETE

"Titanium dioxide is a photocatalytic material that has been widely explored due to its ability to degrade atmospheric pollutants in the matrix where it is inserted. This study was developed to analyze the effect of titanium dioxide on concrete, in order to understand its influence on compressive strength. To prepare this article, the qualitative method was used, through bibliographic review and experimental tests. The results indicate that titanium dioxide had a superior performance in compressive strength when administered in an amount of 0.5% in relation to the cement mass. It was concluded that titanium dioxide is beneficial under specific doses, helping to improve the mechanical properties of concrete, as well as its workability."
