"Large-scale agricultural production began to receive a global view when, at the height of the pandemic (2020/2021), the major food-producing countries had to respond to world demand, coupled with the paralysis of other industries, to supply the global reduction in activities due to the application of the lockdown, in almost the entire production chain in all regions of the planet. Increasing food production has always been a relentless pursuit in the agricultural industry, but in recent decades environmental preservation has been linked to this factor. Faced with these challenges, studies into the use of microwaves have intensified, with results both in the fight against weeds and in the eradication of fungi and bacteria, compared to other processes already applied on a large scale."
