Trabalho completo:

Posteriormente, a pesquisa foiaplicada a treze empresas do setor automotivo.

Although widely adopted around the globe, emerging evidence suggests that digitalization investmentsoften underperform. One potential reason is that firms lackorganizational readiness to adopt the new technologies. Inthis paper, we evaluate digitalization implementation anddigital readiness in the Brazilian auto industry to ascertainhow readiness potentially impacts the implementation ofnew digital technologies. In reviewing the literature ondigital transformation in the global automotive sector, alack of studies was identified on the level of readiness inrelation to digitalization and innovation brought out by theimplementation of Industry 4.0 technologies. To addressthis gap, a digitalization protocol was drawn up with theaim of verifying the maturity of companies andunderstanding the degree of readiness for digitaltransformation. Subsequently, the research was applied tothirteen companies in the automotive sector. Thecontribution of this paper identified that the use of digitaltechnologies increases the quality and results of work, facilitates the achievement of objectives, offers acompetitive advantage, and improves customer experience.
