A proposal of descriptive framework for the characterization of smartphone navigation systems

This study aimed to develop a descriptive framework for the characterization of smartphone navigation systems. Its development process was iterative (with evaluation and refinement cycles) and collaborative (involving the participation of three researchers), alternating literature review and observation. The model comprises a global navigation level, to describe between- and within-node navigation and a level related to navigation subsystems, in which links, location indicators and system feedback are characterized.
