Design and expression in contemporary signs: a semiotic approach

This article, based on the socio-historical context, presents and interprets aesthetic changes in the expression of graphics products, considering the relationship between form (syntax) and communicative function (semantic) and, more specifically, marks the expressiveness with respect to readability. Here are collected and interpreted historical data and formal theories based on the fields of History, Visual Communication, Design and especially Semiotics applied to reading product images Graphic Design. With this, it is analyzed from the perspective of semiotics American posters developed by advertising agency TBWA / Chiat / Day to spread the American Grammy Party 2009, which were developed with the technique of expressive typography.
