Development of an open source font for the signage system of the Federal University of Espírito Santo

This paper deals with the critical thinking involved in developing a typeface for the signage system in the campus of the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), considering as its main objective the maximum legibility at distance. We sought to develop a typeface that is suitable for this purpose, starting from other typefaces distributed under open source software license.
