Completo:

"This study evaluates the technical and economic viability of a pectin production process from orange juice industry waste, using SuperPro Designer® software to simulate the production flowsheet. The model was fed with waste quantity data generated from Greenpeople®. The simulation results indicate that the process is technically viable, with a pectin yield of 12.05% using acid extraction with HNO3. However, the economic analysis revealed that the operating cost per kg of pectin exceeds the analyzed selling prices, indicating that economic viability depends on the sale of by-products, such as essential oil and animal feed."
