Textile art mixed and hybrid in Pirenopolis / GO, an encounter between tradition and contemporaneity

This article reports on a project Master''s Graduate Program in Fine Line Theory and History of Art at the Institute of Arts of the University of Brasilia. The aim is to study the encounter between contemporary and traditional weavings Pirenópolis / GO. It is intended to describe how this occurred and what changes were introduced. We studied the theories of hybridization and interbreeding of Nestor Canclini Iclea Cattani who argue that the essential in a study of cultural encounters becomes the process and not just the result. For both groups were visited weaving in the city: A Trama, traditional weaving and The Tissume, contemporary weaving. At the end are shown the patterns created by Tissume using unusual materials and techniques to the municipality and the need for design objects for application in tissue utilitarian products.
